"It always seems impossible until its done" -Pascal Siakam Toronto Raptors Forward(Former New Mexico State D1 player)
I believe this statement sums up my athletic career pretty well. Most of life I have been cut from the travel team throughout various sports. In baseball, I did not once make the travel team. In Middle school, it took me 2 years to make the basketball team. And in hockey, I was cut from peewee A my first-year peewee. To continue, the first time I played with the top players of my age group was in my major bantam season(AAA). When I was in Peewee would be a dream come true to make the Timmins majors as a minor midget player(hometown AAA midget team). And i made that dream a reality. Now I feel that I am one of the top 03’ players to come out if Timmins. I continuously improve and thus make dreams reality that is why I am certain, I can not only find my way onto a D1 roster but also be a significant contributor to an NCAA national championship contender. My continuous drive to become the best is what fuels these results. And this is why I believe any university(Or junior team) who may offer me a spot on a team will not be disappointed.
I am also a hard worker in the classroom and love to improve. Further, in each year in high school my average has risen from 83% to 86% then 89% and I finally 94% in my senior year. I received a 1050 SAT score but as you can already guess I look to dramatically improve this score in my next attempt at it.
As a hockey player, I compare myself to Brad Marchand and Brendan Gallagher. I am 5'9, therefore, I need to make up for my lack of size with other traits. My extreme compete level and grit is a few examples of such. Like Marchand and Gallagher, I am a tenacious forechecker that more often than not, will win the puck battles. Along, with those elements I am also a skilled player as I believe my wrist shot is a potent weapon and my ability to read the ice is second to none. These elements of my game help me create many opportunities in the offensive zone. Finally, I am a very capable defensive player as I block any many shots and, can anticipate where the play is headed. My experience in other sports such as basketball, soccer, and tennis allowed me to develop my ability to anticipate. This helps me block passes in the d-zone. Also on the Pk, my effective forechecking+ anticipation allow me to quickly disrupt plays and kill momentum of the opposition.
Quick note: In the second video at 1:25 the arrow is wrong, I am the player who gets the puck in the corner and then tips the puck.
