My ambition is to attend a university and play hockey at a high level and I plan to study Law Enforcement for my future career. I have strived to be the best player I can be on every team I have had the opportunity to play on and be a leader. My goals during my collegiate years is to play offense, defense, or where ever I can help my team the best. Another goal would be to have a great run for the playoffs and win a championship.
I am an excellent candidate for your college team because I have a good attitude on and off the ice. I strive to make myself a better hockey player in every way possible. I work hard every shift on the ice and the off-ice workouts. I am a playmaker. If I cannot get the shot on the goal, I look for an open team member and give the puck to them for the shot.
I started playing ice hockey 4 years ago and continue to move up and play a higher level every year. Before ice hockey, I played deck hockey, roller hockey and other sports. I have succeeded in ice hockey by practicing every chance I had, attending hockey camps, and playing ice hockey year-round for the last four years.
I strive to help my teammates with what they need on and off the ice, by building life-long friendships and respecting my team.
I respect everyone and try to think of the other person first before myself. After every hockey game, I make sure that I go up and thank and shake hands with all the referees, the opposing team and their coaches. All of the coaches I have had the opportunity to play for or interact with, I view as teachers, so I can learn from them. One gift that I have is no matter what sport that I have played, I have quickly understood the rules of the game. Therefore, I can play the game better and make quicker decisions on the ice or field.
I have always viewed myself as an athlete and have played a variety of sports growing up, but my true love is ice hockey. There may be a better athlete going up against me, but I will not let that stop me. He or she might knock me down, but I will always get back up and hit even harder next time.
