Ryan Howard '22 Recruiting Profile

I started playing hockey late after playing competitive travel soccer in my younger years. I always wanted to play hockey and finally convinced my parents that it was I wanted to do. As a dual American and Canadian citizen, it is in my blood.

I have progressively grown and developed every season since I started playing hockey. From learn to play at age 11 to limited travel at age 12, then to travel teams from B, to A, to AA and now to the Tier 1 AAA National level I have continued to progress up the development ladder. I am a good team mate, a hard worker and willing to train off and on the ice to further my development to the highest level that I can.

Being a late starter and climbing levels nearly each season, I have always had to fight from out of my depth to become one of the leading scorers on my teams. I play in front of the net, do not shy away from contact, and play a 200 foot game always ensuring I am covering the D behind me while looking to support my offensive line mates with me.

Each year my interest in playing hockey at a higher level increases, each year my time in to hockey development and training increases. With a full on ice skill development plan in the spring/summer of 2021 and off ice hockey focused athlete development training program in combination, I know my development will continue to increase.

With the ultimate goal of playing collegiate hockey wherever it may take me, I am open to all the paths open to me: prep school, junior programs and collegiate sports. The one thing you will get from me is effort and dedication. I am doing what I can to be the best player I can be, and make up for the early development time I missed.
