I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and learned to skate when I was three. My family, however, moved to Asheville, North Carolina when I was five. Little did we know there was no ice rink there. I started playing inline in Asheville when I was five. The closest ice rink to Asheville is in Greenville, South Carolina, and we started making the trek when I was nine so I could start playing ice hockey. I was immediately hooked! I aspire to play ice hockey in college at the highest level possible.
Before my junior year started in August 2023, my mom and I moved to Greenville so that I could maximize my ice time. I work hard on the ice, waking up at 5:30 three days a week to practice before school, and staying up late two nights a week for night practices. I am on the ice 10 hours a week on average with practices and games. My strengths include my speed, footwork, stick handling and high hockey IQ. I always listen to my coaches and do what they ask, and I am a good team player. I work hard and encourage my teammates to do the same. I have also worked hard over the summers, attending camps and showcases and hitting the gym for conditioning.
I also work hard at school and am a straight A student. I was inducted into the National Honor Society, and I have been on the honor roll every semester. I have volunteered as a Young Naturalist at the Western North Carolina Nature Center and to help kids learn to play inline and ice. I have also worked as a referee and a scorekeeper for the Asheville Hockey League. My other interests include golf, reading, basketball, animals, scuba diving, animals and science. I also enjoy spending time with my older brothers.
I hope to attend a challenging academic college with great athletics to push me to be my best in the classroom and on the ice.
