Tanner Kehler '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'10 goalie from Lumsden, Saskatchewan, Canada, graduating in the 2011 class and currently sitting at a 3.5 GPA. I have been playing hockey as a goalie since I was 7 years old and it has always been my passion and dream to continue playing competitive hockey after graduating high school. Aside from my regular league play, I have played four years of club hockey attending a total of nine tournaments. Throughout these tournaments I was recognized as the player of the game a total of ten times. I do feel one of my strongest points in hockey is the ability to anticipate the play, this has served me well in getting set up but also in playing the puck. I feel I would be a positive contribution to any team by providing a strong sense of leadership and commitment, focussed and hard-working whether it be a game or practice. I am looking to achieve a balance of playing hockey and excelling academically. I am wanting to attend a school where I can pursue my academic goals of a career in forensics criminology as my first choice major or enter the field of physical education to become a trainer and/or coach. The size and location of the school is not a large factor for me, however, I do want to play on a competitive team where positive thinking and determination are key. My work ethics are consistent in and out of the classroom, on and off the ice - I work hard and always striving to improve.
