I have been playing hockey for 13 years, falling in love with goaltending the first time I strapped on the pads.
I have been training with multiple private training companies such as Goaltec, Focus, Mind the Net and Eli Wilson. Every chance I have to play hockey my blades are on the ice - wether with my various teams, camps, outdoor rinks or. shinny. A couple years ago I put ice in my backyard so I could go and practice my edge work and movement, and to have teammates come ever and take shots.
This past offseason I spent my summer training and doing camps with numerous Canadian SJHL and American prep teams. I have team practices upwards of twice of week with games once or twice a week. I also have two private practices a week and do weight training on every day I don’t have hockey and, time permitting on some hockey days. I am committed to being the best athlete I can be for my coaches and my teammates.
I have also been lucky to coach younger goalies, first as a junior summer instructor for Goaltec Saskatoon. This opportunity led to a part time job coaching all ages that come to Goaltec seeking instruction and to improve their game. Being an instructor allows me a unique perspective on the position of goaltending and, I believe, makes me a stronger goalie myself.
I feel I would be a good fit to any team because of my competitiveness, determination, coachability and my dedication on and off the ice. I am a team player and believe a team is only as strong as their weakest link, building each other up so our weakest is everyone else’s strongest.
Teams win together, lose together, celebrate and grieve together so instead of seeing my teammates as guys I share a sport with I see them as brothers- all working together to reach the same goal.
