Hi! My name is Hunter Johnson. After finishing grade 12 in Swift Current while playing Junior with the Assiniboia Rebels, for the last two years I have been living in Kelowna, BC attending university (UBCO - Engineering) and finishing my junior hockey career with the Kelowna Chiefs. I am well-balanced and responsible with a focus on athletics, academics, and family/friends.
I’m lucky enough to be able to play competitive hockey in my hometown and I wanted to complete my grade 12 before exploring other Junior or varsity options. Now it is time to explore my options for the next stage of my life. My height and long reach (6’0”; 215 lbs) allow me to be a defensive and penalty kill specialist. I see the ice and make heads up plays to enable a transition game. Offensively I do like to carry the puck to transition zones and join the play. My hard shot creates chances from the blue line.
I am always looking to self-improve.
I have been fortunate to be coached by excellent leaders and will adapt my play style to what is best for the team and its systems.
I will reach to you in the near future to discuss further options and answer any questions you may have.
Hunter
