My love of the game came from my first few Milwaukee Admirals minor league hockey games. Seeing how fast they could skate and move the puck made me want to start my hockey career. At five years old, my dad signed me up to play hockey for the same organization he played for as a kid. I developed my game and at ten years old made my first C level travel team. I then realized that I wanted to become faster so I started attending yearly power skating camps to improve my speed and agility. At twelve years old I made the B level travel team. At fourteen I double rostered for A level Bantam and AA Midget teams playing over 60 games that season. AA Midget gave me extra experience playing against great competition in the Northern Illinois Hockey League. The past three years I've been playing AA club High School hockey in the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association, Wisconsin Club High School Hockey League and tournaments across the Midwest including Notre Dame, University of Michigan and St. Louis. I have also gained additional experience by extending the season and playing on spring High School tournament teams for the last four years. I love tournament play and have had a chance to compete against top competition including teams from Canada! As a senior player this year I was very honored to be voted captain by my teammates. I'm trying to excel in this leadership role on and off the ice. At William Horlick High School I'm completing my studies in the math and science areas. I also enjoy music and play trumpet in the WHHS Symphonic band and am a section leader in our jazz band. In 2017 we received Gold 1 in Large Group Ensemble, Gold 1 for Jazz Group and the Adjudicators Award for highest score overall at World Strides competition in Nashville, TN. I have also received academic high honors freshman, sophomore and junior year. I'm on track to achieve high honors again in my senior year. Although my high school doesn't have a hockey team I have balanced my club hockey career along with my high school academics well. I would love to be able to continue this balance by attending a college that offers hockey. It would be a dream come true to get a great education and compete at the next level! With my work ethic and passion to further continue my sport, I can be an asset to any team at the college level.
