Sims Nichols '22 Recruiting Profile

I am a coachable, determined, multi-sport athlete with a strong lacrosse IQ. I am looking for an opportunity to join a program and make an early impact on that team to help contribute to the goals of the program.I know that I am not from a "traditional" hotbed of lacrosse but I believe that my athleticism, work ethic and style of play allow me to play with anyone at anytime.       

I feel like I thrive in unsettled situations; whether that is on  offense or defense. I really like the chaos that happens during a face-off; it is where I feel like I work best to help my team get possession of the ball. In the rare occasions that doesn't happen; I push hard to recover and get into position to either shut down their fast break or force a turnover.

I  also play Varsity football for Vestavia Hills as a Strong Safety. I am active in my church youth program and take part in the Leadership Vestavia Hills leadership program. I am taking my third year of German and honors history. 

• I started playing lacrosse in first grade and was a goalie and attack player until I got to 7th grade. In U13 (7th  grade) I transitioned to playing defense for the first time and spent the season learning the  position and becoming a contributing player on  my U13 team that played  for the state championship. I missed all of spring 2020; my sophomore season due to a shoulder injury and then covid-19. I was able to return to play during the summer of 2020 and played for my local club team; BLU 2021/2022 as well as playing for Shred Thread National during the summer of 2020. I also played for Team Eighteen 2022 and Atlanta Kings National 2022 teams during the summer of 2021 going into my senior year of high school.
