Personal Statement

Winning the Canadian National Field Championships with our U15 Team BC provincial team and winning the BC Provincial Field Championships with my club team in the same field season are the two biggest moments of my lacrosse career. It took perseverance, commitment and a belief in each of my teammates that led to those accomplishments. I recently was individually recognized as Player of the Year for my local Association in Ridge Meadows. It was an honour and very humbling to be recognized for this achievement. As well, I was recognized by the British Columbia Lacrosse Association and PacificSport BC as one of five High Performance athletes for my sport in the entire province. A very prestigious honour I am very proud of.

My goal is to receive a quality education at an NCAA institution while playing the sport I am passionate about. I am a focused and hard working individual who will put in the work to do what is necessary to be successful. However, I know that I can always be better and want to be able to be a part of a quality school and lacrosse program that will allow me to reach my full potential. I always want to improve, get better at both ends of the field, contribute to team success and ultimately become an elite student-athlete.

Playing both high-level box lacrosse in the Spring and Summer and field lacrosse in the fall and winter only elevates my overall skill set. I believe I possess the necessary lacrosse skills; I play and understand the sport at a very high-level. I believe my strengths to be my lacrosse IQ, my overall work ethic and I am a team-first player. While not a prolific scorer that will show on the stats sheet, I contribute offensively and I am a threat using my quickness and agility on my dodges to force the defensive slides and use my vision to move the ball. I have an above average shot with my dominant hand but can use some work using my non-dominant hand. I also believe I am a very good defensive midfielder who uses his quickness, good footwork, proper body positioning and great stick work to my advantage as I am not the biggest player out there. I possess good strength and power and am continually working on getting stronger and faster. I am in the gym training at least 4 - 5 times week and am starting to see some positive gains.

I believe I would be an excellent addition to a quality lacrosse program and a model student who will always put his academics first. I am a team-first, high character, goal oriented player who will contribute offensively and defensively and strives to improve at all facets of his game as well as the classroom. I am always there for my teammates and support and encourage them to be the best they can be so the team can reach whatever goals we set out to achieve.

By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
