Lacrosse is not just a game to me. It is more than an extracurricular activity. I know lacrosse will help me on the path to success. Although academics are a challenge to me, lacrosse has become part of my life that builds my confidence and helps me focus. I left home for IMG Academy during the pandemic for the chance to play lacrosse at a level that was not available to me in New York City. The adjustments were difficult, with dorm quarantines, being unable to leave campus or travel home, and getting COVID, but I have grown from surviving those challenges and am thankful that IMG lacrosse has been what I hoped it would be. My coaches have shown me that to be successful in high-level lacrosse and in life I have to put more effort into both. These are important lessons for my future.
On the field I have grown so much thanks to my coaches and teammates. I give 100% to my team, whether we win or lose. I don't take losses home with me and I don't overly celebrate wins because I know there's always going to be another game. I look out for my teammates and I consider them my family. I have worked hard to make better and quicker decisions as a goalie.
I am looking for a college where I can continue the partnership between school and lacrosse and know that lacrosse brings the best out of me.
