When I was 5 years old I was introduced to the beautiful game of lacrosse. I played for 7 years until I was informed that my family was moving from Bel Air, Maryland to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where lacrosse is the farthest thing from a sanctioned sport. I was devestated, I thought I would never play again in my life. Then after 2 years we found a high school team, Sandia LC, and my spirits soared. My love for the game had never been more passionate. I believe that this makes me so much more special than the recruits coming from hotbed like my hometown Maryland. With all due respect to those kids of course but they have the lacrosse world at their fingertips and have all the resources to make themselves into a Division 1 player. I never have had those sort of resources while living in New Mexico. Also I believe that my unorthodox location for a lacrosse player allows me to bring a much more diverse style of play to the table. All the time at school and around everywhere I go I get strange looks, because in their eyes i'm different which makes me special. This fact keeps my drive to get better at 100% all the time. I want to show everyone who says I can't do it that I can, I want to put Albuquerque on the map in the lacrosse scene, and spread the game. This is why I want to make it all the way.
