Michael Dixon '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Michael Dixon. I live in Tallahassee, Florida, where I attend Leon High School.  I graduate high school in 2024.  I started playing lacrosse in the 3rd grade and instantly loved the game. I have always been a midfielder, but in middle school, I began taking our team's face-offs and immediately loved it. I have dedicated a lot of my time into facing off, and I truly have a passion for it.  At Leon, I have won 499 face-offs going into my senior year.  Also, I had 27 goals and 40 assists last year.  I am convinced more than ever that I want to play lacrosse at the next level. 

As an athlete and in my day-to-day life, I always strive to be the best at what I do. I always want to help my team and my peers around me. I am very coachable and eager to learn new skills and techniques to improve my game. I pride myself in my vision of the field (plays, backdoor cuts), and my quickness to predict things on the field (slides, when to pass the ball). 

I also pride myself in my academics and ability to maintain a good balance between being a student and an athlete.  I take mostly honors classes at Leon, and I have a 3.8 weighted GPA.   In college, I plan to study  Business or Biology.  In addition to academics and sports, I am an active member of the local varsity chapter of Ducks Unlimited. This non-profit organization is dedicated to raising money for duck habitats around the United States.  

Playing lacrosse in college has been a personal goal for as long as I can remember, and I'm excited to keep grinding until I achieve that goal.
