Christian Cartee '19 Recruiting Profile

As a high school player, I give 110% at practice and during games.  As an 8th grader, I was the starting crease defender on the East Paulding High School JV team.  I was awarded the Defensive Player of the Year Award for 2015.  As a freshman, I started as crease defender on the Varsity lacrosse team and have been a starter since that day.  I have been selected to the DiVarsity State of Georgia All-Star team for both my 9th 10th, and 11th grade years.  This past season I was selected to the 2018 1st Team All-County Lacrosse team.  I play summer travel with Crossfire and Thro Bax Lax.  One thing I pride myself on is that I never give up even when we are facing certain defeat.  I encourage my teammates in a positive manner and lead by example.  I get to practice early to hit the bounce back and stay late to work on speed and agility.  I use my D-pole as an extension of my body.  I respect my body and understand the need to stay in the best physical condition possible.  In the classroom, I work hard to achieve the highest grade possible.  I lead classroom discussions and work with my peers to help them be successful as a tutor.  I volunteer at Special Olympics to encourage those young students to experience success.  I am a member of First Baptist Church in Dallas, GA and have been all of my life.  I have grown up in church and believe that it is an important part of who I am today.  I am an active member in Hope Methodist Church's youth group and enjoy doing campus outreach.  As a collegiate player, I want to be the best at my position on the field as well as the classroom.  Athletics is important, but an education is paramount.  I want to play at the next level because I have the highest level of respect for the game of lacrosse.  I will bring leadership, strong character, and competitiveness to the team.  I have a strong commitment to family, and I view my lacrosse brothers as a part of my family.  We win as a team and lose as a team.
