Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is William MacLeod and I am a future 2022 graduate out of Orchard Park Secondary School located in Stoney Creek, Ontario. I have been playing both box and field lacrosse for 11 years and I am a 3-time Ontario Champion with the Hamilton Bengals. My biggest accomplishment is my second championship in 2017 because our team started poorly in the season and then we kept improving and learning to pass well to each other until we were the best! This past winter, I played in the Toronto Rock Elite League U21 and achieved the most goals, assists and points in the season. I was also awarded the post-season MVP: Will Sheehan and Will MacLeod highlight 21U REL award winners - TRAC Athletics - Toronto Rock Athletic Centre
I am currently playing Junior B lacrosse with the Hamilton Bengals and I am attending camps with the Burlington Chiefs Junior A team. I am leading the Junior B league in points: Hamilton Bengals - Ontario Jr. B Lacrosse League - team stats | Pointstreak Sports Technologies
I would like to play lacrosse at the university level because lacrosse is very special to me and I want to play this game with other players who love it as much as I do. I have a good feel for the game and my coaches admire the way I can "read" the floor or the field. My statistics show that I can score; but please know that I also have lots of points in assists, too. I am a team player; I know that you hear that all the time, but know that I can help analyze a team's weakness and come up with a team game plan to exploit this weak area. My passing skills are impressive and I am known as someone who can make seemingly impossible passes and I have been called a "Loose Ball Bloodhound" by announcers calling my games.
I also played on a variety of different teams in United States tournaments and these teams are listed at the end of my video. My most memorable is playing in Michigan's "Great Box Lax Classic" with the Burlington Chiefs Junior A Prospect Team. We finished dead last in the round-robin and then came back to knock-out some very strong teams to win the championship. This past summer, I kept busy with Edge Lacrosse Canada and played in the United Lacrosse League for the Mavericks 2 team and I played on the GTA-West team in the All-Canada Lacrosse tournament. I was honoured to be named "BACK-TO-BACK" to play in the All-Star games for 2020 and 2021 for the All-Canada Lacrosse tournament. I also recently played in the Junior Showcase "Survivor's Cup" for Mimico.
I would like to thank you for viewing my profile and please contact me if you would like any further information.
Thank You,
William MacLeod
