Personal Statement

My goal is to go to college and be able to play lacrosse while attending.  I don’t mind work and understand the grind it will take to be successful.   Getting better at each practice and game is important to reach my goal.

I was a three year member of the Tates Creek Titans Middle School Lacrosse team, receiving the Defensive MVP my third year (2018) and was a member of the LYLA All-Star team. I began my freshman year of high school in August of 2018 at Scott County High School (Georgetown, KY).  During my freshman year, I started at Long Stick Midfielder (LSM), recording 25 ground balls and 6 take-aways before breaking my collar bone late in the season.  My sophomore season  finished early due to the COVID 19 virus.  In the five games we were able to play, I started at LSM but was also asked to play close D  on certain occasions, specifically to guard their top attack man (we won both games), as well as competing at face-off  on occasion.

I'm  also a member of the Commonwealth Kings, the premier lacrosse club team in Kentucky.  I have played for the Kings since 2017.  I began as a close D defender but was a starter at LSM this past summer and fall.  I was a member of the Scott County Archery Team 1 and currently taking dual-credit classes. A former Boy Scout, I am active with my church and take time to volunteer within my school and church as well as helping my parents on the family farm.   l served as a counselor at Blue Grass Christian Camp, work part-time for a local landscape company and also work part-time at Johnson's Funeral Home, Georgetown.

  • comments from Coach Tommy Barnhorst......"You were an absolute pleasure to meet and over the course of the 4 days you proved to be one of the better Defenders at the camp. You were the ultimate team player being extremely unselfish and putting the team first. You continuously were eager to learn and any coach will be lucky to have you! You have good size and speed and are extremely tough. I noticed you take a shot to your body and continue to play like nothing happened, not many players your age do that. You also seem to understand the game better then most defenders your age which will put you way ahead of the game in high school!"
