My name is Carter Ullett, I have been playing Lacrosse since I was 7 years old. I play for the North Winnipeg Falcons in the club season, in the 2019 season I was captain of the team and a starting player. The 2018 season our team combined with the Selkirk Wizards, while playing for the Wizards I was a starting player. Our team won the city championships. I have played for Team Manitoba box lacrosse 4 years in a row and was the Captain for both my Bantam years. The 2019 Box Championships, Team Manitoba won the B side Gold, while on the team I was a starting player and one of the Assistant captains and was in the top 3 points leaders for my team for both my Midget seasons.
The past 2 school years I played for the West Kildonan Wolverines I was one of 2 Grade 9 students selected to play on the team. I was played in every game as one of the 2 starting lines starting the season as a midfielder and ending as an attack. Our team did not loose a game during our regular season; but fell a bit short in playoffs. In the 2019 season I was a starting player and named to the leadership team as one of the captains, our team went through the B division in the regular season winning every game and was placed in the A division for playoffs we made it to the semi-finals but fell short to make it to the championship game. I was named to the horary All-Star team at the end of the season during the awards banquet.
I am a true multi sport athlete playing as a ice hockey goaltender. I have been playing since I was 5 years old and committed to be a goalie at 7 years I played 5 years as a AAA spring hockey Junior Steeler and played AAA for the 3 years. In my bantam year I was drafted by the Swan Valley Stampeders in the Manitoba Junior Hockey league. This season
I have made the switch from goaltender to defenseman for the West Kildonan Wolverines, my high school team. The switch has allowed me to focus more on my lacrosse and still enjoy the game of hockey and rep the benefits of being a multi-sport athlete. In the 2019/2020 season I was awarded Most Improved Athlete on the West Kildonan Wolverines Hockey team.
I love how both sports are so different and yet allow me to combine my skills from each to be the best I can be at both. The hand eye coordination and the athleticism Lacrosse provides makes me a better goalie on the ice. I aspire to play college level Lacrosse in the future.
