My Collegiate Goals and Aspirations are simply i want to be the best Athlete I can be. Every time I step on the field or Ice I use that experience to not only make myself better but the players around me better. I am a 3 sport athlete, currently I am playing football for the first year, within 3 weeks, I became the starting Wide Receiver on our 9A Freshman Team. Going to a really large school I set my goals high, I wanted to be a starter. I have been working with our strength and conditioning coach and have seen a huge difference in my, body. Not only am I stronger (Increased my bench 100# in only 5 weeks), my body feels better after games and I seem to recover quicker. With a stronger body I know it will help me in all my sports.
I also play Hockey, I am currently Trying out for the Bantam top team again. Last season, as a first year, I lead the team in hits, drawn penalties, and helped guide our team to Section Title, Regional Title and 5th Place finish at State. Hockey has truly helped me become the athlete that I am today, from the Skating, Hand Eye Coordination to playing with 1/2 of my lacrosse teammates. This year I had my best Hockey Season of my young career, I did not meet one of my goals of helping lead my team to state, I felt that with all the injuries that we had this season it wore us out by the end of the season. I finished the season with 60 goals and 41 assists, in 52 games.
Lacrosse everyone tells me is my sport, I step on the field and everything in front of me slows down. I see the field really well, my speed separates me from my defenders to allow me to get to open spaces, my field awareness allows me to see a cut and move the ball there quickly. In the last couple of years I have started to gain more confidence in my weak hand which is my right. I still tend to go very strong left, last night was the first time I have played since football started, I was talking to my Dad and told him Football the strength and conditioning really separated me more from my competition. I felt stronger, kids had a really hard time getting around me on defense, beating me to a ground ball, my first step was really quick and strength and speed I felt is my x factor.
I feel that I still have a lot to learn, I try to give a 100% every time I come to practice and 120% in games. I will stand up for my teammates and no mater their skill level, I want them involved, cause as a team you are only as strong as your weakest link. And Every Person has a role in a team no mater how big it is or how small it is. It takes everyone to achieve the goals. I have a strong personality, I am a natural leader once I feel comfortable in my soundings. Everyone makes mistakes, I tend not to dwell on them but learn from them.
Academics, I am working really hard, not only on the field but in the classroom, I am juggling a busy schedule but feel that all the hard work will pay off. I am still up in the air, with exactly what I want to be when I grow up. I love sports and feel that this my be my avenue, from Coaching to Teaching, scouting or even an agent, I still have not decided.
