I'm looking for an institution that can challenge me intellectually and help me in pursing my career goals. The strength of the individual Business, Analytics, International Business, Finance or Entrepreneurship programs is how I will evaluate my college choice. Speaking with individual professors within the business department will also be critical to my decision.
As part of a lacrosse team I look to be the best teammate possible. I lead by example on and off the field. During practice I make it a point to focus on every single rep, be the first one back for drills after a break and arrive on time ready to improve on the field and weight room. During gameplay I value team contribution over individual performance. Having played SSDM this past season I learned the value of maintaining possession and hustle plays like clearing, securing possession from the wing on faceoffs, groundballs, defense stops or assists during transition offense. Most of all I try to maximize the things I can control through maintaining a good attitude, giving my coach and teammates maximum effort in both, practice and games situations, and showing respect for those dedicating their time to improve me as a player.
As for my own development I have worked really hard with my wall ball routine to strengthen stick stills and working on my non-dominant hand. I play box to also improve my skills working in tighter spacing and transition defense. I joined my school cross country/track team to improve my conditioning and speed as a SSDM/offensive midfielder and I work with many speed coaches on footwork so I can succeed in being a two-way midfielder.
I love playing the game of lacrosse. The culture of my college team means more to me that which division I play in from D1 to MCLA. It would be great if the team was involved in community service and team building activities throughout the year. I'm grateful to all the coaches and professional players that have invested their time to make me a great player and those that will work with me in the future to make me even better. Lacrosse has built up my confidence and character and has become a part of my identity. I will always find a way to be involved with the medicine game.
