Jake Burch '27 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Jake Burch, I am a 2027 student at The Lawrenceville School aiming to perform at the highest level in the classroom and on the lacrosse field. My strengths are being very respectful, coachable, supportive, and kind which are qualities identified in me by most coaches, teachers, and peers. I also am an extremely hard worker and will never quit on anything. I believe that nobody should out-work you, and I always try to exceed expectations.

Throughout my academic career I have:

• Maintained a 4.0 GPA from Kindergarten through 8th grade
• Earned the honor of being salutatorian of my middle school class graduating class
• Earned a 3.52 GPA at in the winter term at The Lawrenceville School
• Made the Dean’s List in winter and spring terms of my freshman year

In athletics I have:

• Played lacrosse for 8 years and a goalie for 7 years
• Played travel lacrosse since 6th grade
• Played baseball, hockey, and golf; then focused my energy and commitment to becoming stronger as a lacrosse player
• Been recognized as a team leader in 2022
• Been selected as captain of my hockey team for the 2023 season
• Been selected to be the starting goalie for the second varsity team at The Lawrenceville School for the 2024 season and was an impact player helping the team to the year-end county tournament.

Outside academics and athletics, I:

• Worked with younger grade students at my former school teaching computer skills
• Volunteer for Lawrence Lacrosse Club as an assistant coach
• Attend the Christian Athletes Club at The Lawrenceville School
• Assist my father with his construction business, learning the trade and additional skills
• Played the trumpet in middle school and continue to play and improve at the guitar

I strive to do the best I possibly can at anything, outwork everybody, and exceed expectations. A goal I have for the future is to be a role model for younger people to inspire them, while at the same time continuing to push myself to the limit, regardless of the circumstances or results. I believe results are a by-product of strategy and hard work.
