Brennan McNeilly '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Brennan McNeilly. I am a three sport varsity athlete as a sophomore in football, lacrosse and wrestling. I currently go to Lindenhurst Senior Highschool on Long Island. 

Football and lacrosse pretty much raised me. I’ve had a stick in my hand as long as I could remember. I’ve played defense my whole life, even in Kindergarten and I could not be more happy on choosing that position.  These sports are very physically demanding sports, so being brought up by them, I have a very persistent and hard working demeanor. When I want something, I can promise you that I will work day in and day out just to get it.  

Lindenhurst lacrosse isn’t huge, but we always put up a fight. We are currently in Suffolk D2, which is one of the hardest divisions on the island, but we will always put up a fight and have the other team leaving sore and physically beaten. That’s the thing, everyone on the team pretty much played together since little league, and we all have that hard, Long Island mentality, where your going to have to kill us to stop, and for the coaches, you can always use a couple of us on the field. 

Being that I was raised by these sports, I wanted to give back, so I started coaching little league lacrosse and football in Lindenhurst. Teaching kids how to cradle and  pass brings me happiness because I know I am helping the next generation of athletes grow up to be the the best they could possibly be. 

Aside from football and lacrosse bringing me up, I currently reside in Lindenhurst, a medium sized town right on the Great South Bay on Long Island. Being brought up here affected me just as much as football and lacrosse is. Lindenhurst is filled with tough, hard, blue collar workers who will never give up, and that’s what you can expect from me on the field.

In the classroom I am good to. I enjoy taking business and marketing classes because I want to start my own business  or join my grandpa and fathers logistics company. I average around a 96.5% weighted in the classroom. And just like sports, I will work to maintain and even better my grades, I am never satisfied.
