Four years ago, my friends first invited me to play in their new club sport, lacrosse. Although lacrosse has only been part of my life for the past several years, I’ve always been an athlete. I wrestled from kindergarten until I was in seventh grade, and I played basketball when I was in fourth grade. I am thankful for the fundamentals that I learned from competing in those sports early on.
Our family values service, gratitude and work. My father taught me to always thank and be grateful for the time others put into me or those I care about. He also taught me the simple path to doing something great is to get out and do it. That’s why I pushed myself to hit wall, watch and learn from film, conditioning myself so that I can continue to learn and inspire my team. Joining the True Lacrosse program has given me a new level of accountability to work and grow as a measure of thanks to my parents and coaches that have invested in me.
While I was learning and getting better at lacrosse, I began to take an interest into additive manufacturing and the tenets of engineering. To challenge my engineering ability and to grow myself in my education, I began to design and build a large format 3d printer. While it is one challenge to simply create, to learn and discover things you don’t know starts to bring you a wonder like none other. I have found that engineering and lacrosse a complimentary as technique and process allow you to refine and unlock new learning. I’m looking for a team and an engineering program that will support me on my journey of lifelong learning.
