Switching to lacrosse from baseball during the spring of my 3rd grade year was one of the best decisions I‘ve made in my life. The people I’ve met, the friends I’ve made, and the countless lessons I’ve learned on and off the field have all made me a better person. When I started playing club ball in 5th grade, I knew for sure that this was what I wanted to do for as long as I could. While some of my club experiences have been better than others, the two I play for today have pushed me to become the best player I can and have helped open up new possibilities for me to grow the game of lacrosse in the West. The Robin Hood Skirmish is the way I am growing the game. The Robin Hood Skirmish is a nonprofit tournament that my dad and I run at the end of July at my own high school. While a lot of credit is definitely due to my dad, my ideas and visions gained from attending different tournaments over the years have let us go around some shortcomings that we’ve seen at those tournaments to create the greatest lacrosse experience we possibly can. Teams at all age levels, boys and girls, come from across the West to compete at Sherwood High School for one last ride of their summer schedule. Starting small in 2021, our 2023 schedule spanned four days and clubs brought almost 60 teams this year. Big-time vendors such as Lacrosse Wolf and GooseIt sell equipment and apparel, and high-quality tournament-branded clothing is printed by local business Adams Screenprint. Youth clinics are held to grow the game even further and are led by high school and college players, coaches, and PLL players. All of our information can be found at www.robinhoodskirmish.com , and I encourage you to have a look at what we’ve been able to achieve.
