Hey I am Seven Gillingham from Mississauga, Ontario. I currently attend The Kiski School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I play both Midfield and attack. Coach calls me the Canadian swiss army knife as he likes my grit around the net, the ability to finish, the ability to find the open man and play tough defense. I was drafted 21st overall to the Brampton Excelsior's Junior A Box Lacrosse team. I played on the Brampton Excelsior's box Midget "A" team my 2018-2019 season and placed 4th at the Ontario Provincials, I played on the Oakville Hawks Box Minor Midget "A" team my 2017-2018 season and placed 2nd at Ontario Provincials. I was apart of the Mississauga Field lacrosse program who won 2 field lacrosse provincial. I also played on Edge Lacrosse from 2015-2019. I Believe the ball moves faster then my feet on the field, so I pride myself on getting the ball in and out of my stick with speed, while making the better lacrosse decision . Playing box lacrosse and hockey since the age of 4 has taught me to be a team player first. Also taught me the 3 M's. Move the ball, move my feet when I don't have the ball and move quickly when I have the ball. This philosophy helped me to play a high level of lacrosse (box and field) along with hockey.
I am currently holding a 3.4 GPA, and working hard to get that score higher. My competitive nature in sports has helped me focus in school. Goal setting is a big part of my athletic career and I have learned to transfer those skills into academics. Again, setting goals; knowing that hard work will enable me to reach those goals. The same goes for support. The ability to communicate with a coach to work on specific training allows me to communicate with a teacher and gives me the confidence to ask for help when needed.
I am a person that is open to change, welcomes a challenge and wants to be able to play lacrosse while getting a higher education.
