I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my athletic career playing NCAA D2 Lacrosse at Concordia University Irvine! I want to thank all of the coaches, teammates, programs and my parents for helping me along the way. Go Eagles!
I was introduced to lacrosse in the second grade where I learned how to pass and catch with small plastic sticks our school stored in the shed. Fast forward 9 years, I had never expected myself to be where Im at today with this sport I love. I have played defense since my first game and have enjoyed every step and the players along the way. I play for Tahoma Varsity High School and Seattle Starz 2023 Select.
I am confident in my play as a close-defenseman and team leader. Some key points about my game is my clearing ability and field awareness. Fast clearing in the shot clock era will only benefit any college program. When I step onto the field I see myself as a vocal leader who puts the team before myself, supports my other teammates around me, and works hard willing to give everything I have.
I plan on pursuing a degree in STEM or aviation. In the past year, I have also taken on the task of achieving my private pilots license and most recently flew 1st solo. After school, I plan on applying my skills towards service in the armed forces and aviation.

JAMES BROCKSMITH, 2023, DEFENSE, TAHOMA LAX, TAHOMA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Brocksmith is a raw defender with incredible size and plays a physical game. Strong on the ball Brocksmith was knocking ball carriers around with some tough jams. Standing at 6'5 he has some serious range able to guard a large area of the field and maintain pressure on ball carriers from a distance. Brocksmith plays exceptionally well offball showing high lax IQ with his hedging and help defenses. Never dropping his stick he seemed to have a knack for clogging up passing lanes and knocking down skips. Clean off the ground and smart in the clear game, When Brocksmith grows into his body he will be a huge impact on the defensive end.
