My name is James Tanski, and I am a 5’11” lightweight rower from Glastonbury, Connecticut. I have been a varsity rower for 2 seasons and received Central Connecticut Conference All-Academic recognition for both. I also have a 4.73 GPA and scored a 1420 on the PSAT.
I want to find a school where I have the opportunity to be academically and athletically challenged at the same time. I am interested in engineering, particularly chemical and biomedical engineering, and would be very interested in a school that has strong programs in these areas. I have mostly been looking at schools on the east coast and in the Midwest, but I would be open to going anywhere with strong academics and a crew program where I could compete at a high level.
Over the past few years, crew has been an extremely important part of my life and I want to continue to pursue my passion for it. This sport has provided me many opportunities to grow not only as an athlete, but also as a person, and I find myself learning from my experiences there every day. I am extremely dedicated to rowing and want to keep having this experience for my all of my college years. Thank you for considering me!
