Hello,
I am Glastonbury High School senior Jack Impronto. I row for and am a co-captain of the Glastonbury High School Crew team. My SAT score is 1400, my average GPA for my Junior year was 3.85, and my cumulative GPA is 3.47 at the end of my Junior year. I just completed the second quarter of my senior year with a 4.24 GPA for both the first and second quarter.
I have done 3 years/ 6 seasons of crew. Currently have a 6:33 2k time and 21:11 6k time.
I started crew in the fall of my Freshman year and learned all of the basics in my fall novice season, focusing on technical aspects for my spring season. Over the winter I did a vast amount of conditioning and heavily improved my physical fitness and erg scores. I showed major determination at these 'optional' conditioning practices. I started my novice spring with great success in our events leading to our novice 8+ winning CPSRA’s allowing us to proceed to NSRA’s competing in the junior varsity event.
I then won the award for "Most Improved Player" out of my entire team which has never been given to a freshmen before.
The summer going into my sophmore year I showed up to optional conditioning again and improved my 6k score even more. I went into that all season on the second varsity boat then dropped to stroke the third varsity boat. Coming back in the spring after constant optional conditioning, I dropped my 2k times by 22 seconds and made it into the first varsity boat. Unfortunately our boat could not measure up to the others getting us 6th at CPSRA’s
After another summer of optional conditioning I dropped my 6k Time by over 90 seconds and sustained my position on the A boat competing successfully throughout the fall season and even venturing to the Head of the Charles.
This past spring season our program has increased its benchmark piece from a 2k to a 5x2k instead. I have preformed successfully on these with an average of 7:01.7. I spent the whole season in the first varsity boat and we had not preformed well as had hoped coming in 5th at CPSRA's. The season ended well as I was made Captain for the 2018-2019 seasons.
I have showed to my coach, and will show to my future coach, major determination and preserverince in my erg scores and technique. I look forward to discussing my future with any and all colleges that would look at me and/or accept me.
Thank you for any and all consideration of my profile and myself.
