Nate Caron '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Nate Caron and I’m a junior at Glastonbury High School. I started rowing my freshman year simply looking for a way to stay in shape, but it quickly turned into an ambition to become the best version of myself and succeed as an athlete. Since my rowing career began in the fall of 2021, I’ve learned several important lessons about discipline and perseverance. Being one of the smaller guys on my high school team, I’ve had to learn to become both the most coachable and technically strong as possible.

The spring of my freshman year, I was selected to stroke the Novice ‘A’ 8+, where we won our state championship. The following fall season, my first season on Varsity (2022), I began the year stroking the 1V8+, where I stayed for majority of the fall with the exception of HOCR (U17 4+, stroke seat). This past spring (2023), I spent the season fluctuating between stroke seat and 2 seat of the 1V8+. During the summer of ‘23, I trained at a high performance camp in Sarasota, Florida, where I focused on dropping splits on the erg and further improving technique, as well as getting comfortable with sculling. During the lineup selection process of camp, I was chosen for the first 8+.

This coming year, my goal is to dedicate time to becoming faster on the erg over a variety of distances (10k, 6k, 2k, etc.), as well as apply myself in the classroom to the very best of my ability.

I would love to take my determination to the collegiate level a couple years from now and continue to share important lessons and make memories with new teammates!
