David Mazzola '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is David Mazzola and I’m a senior (Class of 2015) and varsity captain of the Edwin O. Smith varsity crew team in Storrs, CT. I have played a number of sports during my childhood, but none like rowing. I have had a love for the sport ever since I joined during my early high school career. My hope and dream is to continue rowing in the not too distant future at the collegiate level. As a leader for my team, I not only desire to continue improving my own skills but strive to motivate my teammates to do the same.

Crew, unlike many other sports, is strictly team oriented. This is the very reason I believe in a strong team chemistry. Not only do you need a physically healthy team but a socially healthy team as well. With my leadership skills and dedication to the sport and my teammates, I believe I can be nothing less than a major influence on our team. As an individual, I will do my best in our efforts to improve our team in any area that need be. I will help motivate and mold this team into a cohesive organization with great team chemistry.
