I have PR'd twice this fall on my 2K, breaking 6:50 early November 2018. I continue to grow in my sport and have a strong desire to row with a competitive team in college. Choosing the right university that fits my learning style and provides me the opportunity to explore my areas of interest in architecture, industrial design and entrepreneurship are key. I understand that there are a limited number of schools with a light weight men's team and am very willing to train hard to contribute to the success of a heavy weight team. In addition to sweeping, I also enjoy rowing a single and have done well as part of a light weight pair.
Pine View School does not offer any athletics as the focus is on academics. I continued to play on a competitive travel lacrosse team when I transferred to Pine View as a freshman and was introduced to Sarasota Crew as a way to meet people. I juggled practices for lacrosse and crew during my freshman year - having to miss some of each based on regattas and tournaments. I ended up loving the sport and decided as a sophomore to dedicate my training to rowing on the varsity team.
My first full year rowing was during my sophomore year and I qualified for Nationals in the Ltwt 8+. I compete regularly in this boat as well as the Ltwt 4x and single. Sarasota Crew does not focus their practices on light weight boats so I also compete in the heavy weight 2V and single.
