Personal Statement
I currently row for St. Peters, Cambridge New Zealand and have won three National medals in 4x+ and 2x and 10 State medals in 4x+, 2x and 8+. I have excelled in rowing since I started at the age of 13 in 2019 and has been at the forefront of my life inside and outside of school and has a significant positive influence on my personal character and traits I have today.
I have rowed for three previous seasons, starting my fourth and final season at the end of 2021 and rolling over into the start of 2022 for my last year of High School. I am able to sweep row on Bow side and am a skilled sculler in all boats, singles included. My erg scores have excelled from the rest of my crew since I starting, allowing me to gain two school-age group 2km erg records and Top school 2km for two years running at my Highschool, St. Peters, Cambridge.
Coming from a small country in New Zealand, I would love the opportunity to be able to attend an American College for my tertiary studies and I am currently progressing my current grades to enhance my chance to do so, along with my physical rowing abilities. I am seeking a scholarship or funding aid as the type of money needed for college isn't realistic for my family. I believe the college experience will be life changing for me from a rowing and academic standpoint. (PS) - Due to International seasons I graduate high school at the end of 2022 so will be part of the class of 2023.
