My rowing began at the age of 13 at the start of high school at Sydney Grammar School. We were rowing in schoolboy quads until year 10, when we switched to eight racing. As a Year 10 student I ranked 3rd in the Boatshed on my erg score and was selected in the Opens 1st VIII crew to race with boys 2 years older. To my knowledge this was a first in the history of my school (Sydney Grammar School). While rowing at UTS Haberfield Rowing Club, I have trained with athletes 3-6 years older and was fortunate to have been coached by the highly regarded Tim McLaren and Matthias and Judith Ungemach. I have had great success rowing under UTS in multiple regattas and have gained a lot of experience. In order to pursue my rowing ambitions I transferred schools to Saint Ignatious College Riverview with the help of Dan Noonan, Head of the Boatshed. I am skilled in sculling and sweep and can row both sides to a high standard. I am consistently learning and improving in technique, power, agility and strength. With another year of schoolboy rowing ahead, I am seeking to bring success to my school rowing program and aspiring to make State and Australian teams. It has been my goal to train overseas and join a strong US College Rowing Program and compete against the best in rowing with a view to making the Olympic team. My academic performance has been strong throughout my high school years gaining entry to Sydney Grammar School, a selective academic school ranked in the top 5 academic schools in the State. In Year 10, I changed to St Ignatius College Riverview School which is highly regarded for its academic performance and rowing program. My senior year will be focusing on achieving successful results in my academic and rowing performance.
Please see a summary of my rowing results below and let me know if you would like to discuss my rowing experience.
