Hello. My name is Steven McDowell and I aspire to continue my crew career at the collegiate level. I have always been drawn to the outdoors and sports, but I knew I found my passion when I was introduced to the sport of Crew after middle school.
From that first stroke, I knew this was "my sport". Crew allows me to push the line of what my personal best can be, while also ensuring that the ever-important concept of the "team" remains the focus. It has allowed my competitive spirit to strive and grow as I know I must be my absolute best for our team to work as a seamless machine to accomplish our goals. This personal and team dedication is why my coaches refer to me as "the engine". This level of dedication is why my coaches allowed me to row Varsity my sophomore year. They know I will do whatever I can to help the team take it to the next level.
My goal is to become a member of a collegiate team where I can continue in this great sport while continuing my post-secondary education. I always try to do things 100% and think I would be a great athlete for your team and your school's community.
