I honestly feel that this COVID-19 epidemic denied me, and the rest of my fellow HS senior rowers, that last chance to really excel and close out our high school rowing career on a high. And that in itself, is another big reason why I want to continue rowing. I don’t want my rowing career to end as “..a season interrupted.” And if given the chance, I will work very hard to earn my spot on the boat.
I have been a member of the Haddon Township Rowing Team since my freshman year committing to the rigorous 6 day a week training program to prepare for fall and spring races. And we've been lucky to have such a good coaching team to help us be competitive in these races.
I aspire to be a member of a competitive rowing team as I believe that i can be a very valuable and productive member. A dynamic member that can have a positive influence on everyone. With everything on pause, I have still been actively working out and rowing on the erg in anticipation of the day when the ban on races will be lifted. But even with all the uncertainties, that has not stopped me from making sure that I am in shape and can contribute, if accepted, right away.
I would like to get into an Engineering(Computer or Mechanical) or Computer Science program that will hopefully help me position myself to be a future engineer or data analyst/scientist.
Aside from rowing, I have also been a member of our high school's concert band, jazz band and marching band these past four years and have also been an active volunteer in our local community senior citizen assistance programs.
