3 seat Personal Statement
Rowing has become a passion of mine, despite the fact that I originally started rowing as a way to do something when I wasn’t playing basketball or soccer. The feeling of gliding on the water and being able to physically see improvement, however, quickly made rowing become my favorite sport.
I’ve been part of some fantastic boats on the water for PCRA. In my freshman year, I went to Youth Nationals in the U17 8+ and placed 18th. This fall I sat in the Varsity 8+ and we placed 5th at The Head of the Riverfront. After this race, our boat decided to put in extra work before practice, so that we could be competitive at the Charles and other races. It paid off as we won The Overpeck Fall Classic and finished the season placing 11th at the Head of the Charles.
