Winning Midwest in the N8 and placing 5th at Nationals in the F8 truly solidified my passion for rowing. Our early success acted as my inspiration and raised the bar for me at a young age. During Sophmore year, I was met with adversity. Over the course of a few months, my health declined steadily until finally in winter conditioning, it became unbearable to row due to my gallbladder failing. However, I managed to return to rowing within a few weeks and during spring break, I claimed my seat in the V8 for the remainder of the season. From the start of Junior year to present day, I have been striving to PR in every piece with no exceptions. I am fueled by the feeling of loss during my sophmore year and have fully commited to being a college level rower.
I understand athletics alone will not get me far in life without being backed by education. I strive to maintain high academic standards and present a clean image of myself. Throughout my years of being a member of the Holy Cross at Saint Edward High School, I am enthusiastic about contributing to my community and the homeless in particular. This is a passion that I hope to nourish throughout my adult years.
