Making the top 8 man boat and winning the Stotesbury Cup as a grade 9, novice rower, has been one highlight of my rowing career so far. I am fortunate enough to be part of an amazing school rowing program where during my grade 10 year we placed second in the senior mens 8 at Stotesbury and won the senior mens 8 at the CSSRA championships.
While I have found much success in the last two years of rowing, I feel that the most growth for me will come in the next couple of years as I will need to focus on my own individual skills. This spring and summer I began skulling and successfully competed to represent Ontario in British Columbia this fall at the National Rowing Championships and the Canada Cup.
Rowing has challenged me as an athlete in a way I have never been challenged before. I learn new skills and improve quickly. I'm a dedicated athlete who trains as hard as I race. I'm a reliable teammate with a passion for winning and I do whatever it takes to win. I have learned a lot from my coaches, and I continue to develop my skills and learn as much as I can. I am looking for a college where I can continue to learn and develop under strong coaching with a team that embraces my competitive approach as a student-athlete.
