My name is Erik Jones and I have been rowing since June 2022 with Mendota Rowing Club in Madison, WI. Since discovering rowing this summer, I have really enjoyed the sport. I have been a volleyball player since middle school and I have actively looked for another sport that has the same work ethic and camaraderie. Rowing is the perfect fit for me.
Working out in the boathouse and on the water with my coaches and teammates inspires me to push myself everyday and work hard. I really enjoy rowing because it gives me personal and team goals to work toward while having fun. My next step is to compete in a national event to see where I stack up compared to other rowers and where my team stacks up compared to other teams. I look forward to putting all my hard work into action this spring.
I would also enjoy rowing in college. It would be so much fun to find a group of people who enjoy rowing as much as I do and who enjoy competing as much as I do, all while working hard toward a college degree. I look forward to updating this NCSA page so colleges can see if I fit into their program. Thank you!
