Owen Degelman '23 Recruiting Profile

    Hello, I am Owen Degelman, a 2005 born forward in the class of 2023. I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember and my passion for the game is unmeasurable. My goal is to attend a college in the United States, using that as a pathway for me to begin a professional soccer career in potentially the Canadian Premier League or Major League Soccer. I currently play for the Vancouver Island Wave in the BC Soccer Premier League as well as the British Columbia provincial team. I am currently attending Claremont Secondary School for my sophomore year of high school this September. I have completed 22 hours of service in the last 3 years showing that I will have a positive impact on your school off the field and out of the classroom.

    On the field I am a ruthless yet smart forward that can find the back of the net. I use my size to my advantage being 6'1" at 15 years old. Although I am naturally right-footed, the BC Soccer provincial team has listed me as both footed and this season I converted more goals with my weaker left foot than my right foot proving them right. I am not a selfish teammate that chases achievements and accolades, I will do whatever it takes to win and value winning and team success above everything. What sets me apart from other forwards and midfielders in this recruiting class is my versatility,  physicality,  and finishing in-front of goal. I hope you consider me for your program.
