I am a high-performance scholar-athlete - I play MLS Next and I'm ranked fifth overall academically in my Senior class.
I lived in Spain and played at the Academy level for 18 months in Madrid with C.D. Legańes U17 “A” team. I finished as the Captain and leading my team in assists. In addition to playing overseas, I have had the good fortune to train with great coaches and play on some of the best teams in some of the most competitive leagues in Southern California.
This sport is so much more than just a game to me. As I continue to play, I challenge myself by playing against older players, better players, faster players, stronger players, and at higher, more competitive levels in order to evolve as a player. With every experience and every minute on the pitch, I continue to grow as a player and a person. I have learned so many beneficial lessons (technical, tactical, on the ball, off the ball, vision, intuition, anticipation, discipline, patience, recovery, discovery, from so many different coaches - each with their own unique styles and philosophies.
In Spain I played as a 6 and a 8. I found the style of play faster, more physical, and cerebral. I enjoyed the responsibility and independence of living in the academy and of being immersed in the game learning the Spanish system because it is intelligent and intense while also adaptable - not unlike the game itself. Now I am playing MLS Next as a CB for Ventura Fusion, and I continue my progression, improving and evolving as a player - Preparing for my future.
It’s important to me that I am a student-athlete first: I have taken all the honors and AP courses that are available to me, including college courses already (I am currently enrolled in Psychology 101 this summer). I work/train/study hard, and I play hard, and I believe that I embody the virtues and qualities of a player for whom college will best provide the academic and athletic goals I aspire too.
