As far as I can remember I have had a ball at my feet playing soccer. I started playing when I was just 4 years old in AYSO. The game has brought me intense joy, amazing friendships, thrilling victories, moments of awe, comradery, lessons in leadership and inspiring teammates. It also has brought me pain, failure, disappointment, feelings of inadequacy, mistakes, hours of sweat and some tears. These highs and lows allowed me to realize that one of my God given purposes is to play soccer. Soccer has taught me many lessons that have shaped my life physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I also run Track for Aliso Niguel High School while playing club soccer. My academics are important to me and I strive to always do my best. My GPA has allowed me to be a Scholar Athlete which is quite a challenge with my sports schedules. Through all my activities and school demands, I am learning the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership with and without a trophy.
My favorite bible verse is, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work in us" (Ephesians 3:20). God through his power has opened doors for me to play soccer at a high level in club and also to be a part of a high school team that just won CIF for the first time in school history last season. It is more than I have asked or imagined so far. I am motivated to continue to play soccer at the college level, so I can continue to pursue my life purpose academically, athletically and spiritually. I will strive to be an asset to the defense and also the offense. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a two-sport athlete, I know that I have what it takes to be a committed athlete and leader on your team.
