I moved to Texas in the summer going into freshman year not knowing a single soul. I went to a new school and joined both the high school and club soccer team. Although I did not know anyone, I quickly became a leader on the field and soon earned the respect of my fellow teammates. I have always loved the beautiful game of soccer, beginning my career at the age of three. Throughout playing my sport, I have learned to control my emotions and encourage my team to keep playing hard, despite the waning desire to continue. I try my best to encourage my teammates to play their hardest and I also try to exemplify who a leader should be.
For high school, my academic goals have been to receive straight A’s (although I have earned many B’s) and do well in all of my classes. I strive to work hard and understand material that is foreign to me because I am determined to go to college and earn a degree. For college, my goals are to earn a degree and play soccer while doing so. I am determined to do my best in anything academic related that I set my mind on in order to succeed.
I have had to overcome many obstacles in my life, mainly adapting to new environments and adjusting to new social situations. As a kid, I moved to different schools and also new club soccer teams. I was never really stuck in one school or with one team, so moving schools and teams has significantly developed my social skills. I believe that the move to Texas from California has made me more social, willing to be outgoing and extremely friendly. Along with being outgoing, I am highly determined in everything I set my mind to and I believe that I am a good addition to your team and will make a great impact on your team.
