I have put many hours into soccer, and I know I will have to spend many more, to get to the college level of play, which I am prepared to do. Soccer has taught me self-discipline, respect, leadership, and communication skills. Without these skills and discipline, I truly believe that my personality and more than likely my friends would be completely different today. Being selected Team Captain of Breakers FC, MLS Next, in my first year of playing Academy level soccer, has been one of my proudest soccer achievements. It showed me that I represent the qualities of being a leader on and off the field and it erased all doubt in my mind that I was not good enough to play at the Academy level. It fueled my fire, even more, to take soccer to the highest level I can.
I am a fast and physical player that has had experience as a central defender, outside back, and winger. I can reach my top speed quickly which is perfect for chasing down players on a breakaway or creating my own breakaway opportunities up and down the sideline. I am a hard worker in the classroom and on the field. Whether it be in soccer or in school, I like to come up with creative ways to solve my problems which can make me unpredictable on the field or a critical thinker in the classroom.
One thing I know, and I will always try to live by and set an example, is to stay humble. No matter how good you get or what you accomplish, you can always learn something new from someone else and strive to be even better because there is someone out there that will be or is even better than you. To set yourself apart from the rest, you should always take the initiative to improve and never settle.
