I am not going to type this personal statement the proper way most people would write. The reason for that being is that I am taking a big risk, a risk that will determine my future, as well that it doesn't truly capture the fire of passion that soccer brings me. First, about me, I was born in Sacramento, California but lived in the city of Roseville until I moved to a rural area in a small town called Newcastle going to school in another small town of Lincoln. Here soccer is known but not huge such as in Southern California, L.A. where I witnessed first hand during the beginning of my path when an extended duel between L.A Galaxy and Portland Timbers ended in Galaxy's favor. This led me to grow up dreaming of Southern California soccer since I was little. Although it was a dream for longer than I would have wanted.
I have always wanted to play since I was little. The youngest age I could remember wanting to play was 5 years old when I was scoring goals for fun shaping me into the forward I am today, but because of financial issues, I started playing from 6th grade leading up until now. Although this has not stopped me from my dreams that I will stop at nothing to make a reality.
They say that it is cliche and to leave things out like "I want to play pro" but to be truly honest my true goal is to play college soccer but with the chance of becoming professional when I have worked hard enough, this is my true dream. So even if I only get close that would be worth it all. I hope this does not stray you away from me as "just another kid with big dreams and passion", the reason for that being is I strive for academics as well with my 3.9 GPA and classes I can not wait for in college, in order to achieve my degree while practicing intensely.
During class at times I would lose focus because I would think about the next time I would get to practice. Even though this sounds like a bad thing, I was able to channel that focus and time balancing to school which has influenced me for the grades that I earn.
Together with soccer, it has shaped me into the focused adaptable player that I am today. Along with this the skills of leadership, work ethic, and teamwork built who I am today. I know this has been lengthy which is not the recommended two paragraphs but I always give double and if you're already made it this far then that means I've got you interested enough to read about me so why not to give me the opportunity to perform for your college day after day with 100% effort and work.
