Lucas Benitez '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Lucas Benitez and I have a passion for soccer. Starting from youth, I’ve always loved the intensity and pace of the game. Progressively over the years, I’ve continued to play the sport throughout high school and club, becoming a captain for both teams. The truth is that soccer is something I would love to pursue at a collegiate level, however, I strive in the classroom arguably more than on the field, thus, I prioritize to go to an intellectual institution that can accelerate me into a career off the field rather than a small college. Though it may seem like I’m not 100% committed to truly playing soccer at a higher level, I can assure you that my parents have my full support. The decisions that I make in my future truly depend on the appeal that sparks my interest. Loyola High School has really helped me continue a very high level of soccer and has given me numerous opportunities to shine in the midfield and up top. Once again, I do believe that the institution that I commit too will also provide me, not only a chance to excel in the classroom, but on the field as well — similar to Loyola.
