Chase Rodriguez '20 Recruiting Profile

I am very interested in becoming an Athletic Trainer. I just completed my second year of high school education in the International Baccalaureate program (IB) and currently have a 4.4 GPA. I assist academically struggling students by tutoring. I am part of my high school’s Leadership class. I do not drink, smoke or use drugs of any kind.  I have never been in trouble. I have never received a detention in school. I mow lawns in my neighborhood for spending money which I usually use to purchase my cleats. I volunteer time at the local Eagles Hall assisting in serving food.  I am a person who takes their education seriously. I am very passionate about soccer. 

I have played soccer since I was 6 years old, and competitive soccer since I was 8. I was chosen to be a Team Captain from 2013-present. I have also played basketball since I was 8 years old, and again was chosen as Team Captain. I have played basketball my first 2 years of high school, along with golf. I finished the 2020 golf season (although it was cut short due to Covid-19) as Modesto High’s #1 male golfer, as well as making First Team All-Academic in basketball and golf in every season  

In the summer of 2017 I was invited to attend a tryout for the FC Barcelona (Barca) in Casa Grande, AZ as a full time academy resident. Although I was not chosen for the Academy team I received very positive feedback and was told I was “On their radar”.  My soccer strengths (according to my past and present coaches) are foot skills with both feet, my ability to see the game ahead of what is immediately going on, and my ability to find passing lanes and distribution of the ball quickly and without delay. 

I truely believe I would be a positive asset to a school’s academic and athletic programs.
