If I’ve learned anything of lasting value during my eight plus years playing competitive club and high school soccer, it is the enduring value of cooperation toward shared goals. On every team I’ve played we have been required to set aside our individual talents in exchange for team cohesion. Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is a player I admire due to his creative passing ability and exceptional vision. Using this and other examples I have worked diligently to emulate and replicate the benefit of the well timed pass. And it’s paid off. Last season (my junior year) I led the league in assists, an accomplishment that may not garner as much attention on the score sheet yet it’s one I’m proud to detail here. This recognition has matured me in tangible ways. And it is why I can confidently state that I am prepared for the next large challenge.
I am seeking a college program that will complement my athletic and academic goals. For example, I plan to pursue a Business/Marketing degree and I’m intrigued by the possibilities of professionally combining these academic pursuits. Being an athlete has stretched me to consistently improve and I am eager to explore the next horizon. I am an intelligent player and a quick learner. My coaches have often commented that I am highly “coachable”. These attributes, when combined with my athletic prowess, have given me a solid platform to utilize. I revel in team camaraderie and would be honored to represent a college or university as a dedicated athlete.
