I come from a family that migrated from Mexico to the United States in search of a new life and new opportunities. I never got the chance to meet my dad because he left me at a young age in search for a different life. As my Mom, my three sisters, and my brother were also left eventually my mom had to take action and started working to raise us on her own.
I come from a family of two different sides. One side being the one that works hard for success while the other side wants success but is too lazy to put in the work. Being the sibling two SDSU graduates is something that I'm proud of and something that I look up to. I remember when my 2nd oldest sister told me "You either choose the path me and your oldest sister choose( which was go to college) or choose the path that your brother and youngest sister took" which was not finishing school.
So I said to myself if both of my sisters that were born in Mexico could graduate college, then I could too! During my sophomore year I made the JV soccer team and won league. Later, during my junior year I made varsity but didn't get enough playing time so I figured I had to work harder so that same year I decided to join the track and field long distance team to get faster and gain endurance. And Recently I've made the commitment of running cross country and plan to play my last year of high school soccer as well as track and field.
My world of struggle has shaped my dream to play collegiate soccer at the highest level possible. In order to achieve this dream I must stay focus and determined. I have the belief that "you get what you put in". Being raised by a single parent is what also led me to becoming the ambitious and competitive person that I am today. It has also made me a hungry person for success in order to make my family proud and give back to my mom everything that she has done for me and for my family.
