I started playing club soccer when I was only five years old and from then on I fell in love with the sport. Ever since then I have been playing soccer yearly and I love it even more now than ever. When I was five years old I went to one of my older brother's practices where his coach showed a certain interest in me and asked if I would like to join his u-8 team. I was stuck in the back as a defender and told to just kick the ball out as someone advanced towards our goal. From those early thrills and smiles, my love for the game has blossomed. Working on skills, the camaraderie of the team, and the laughs and joy of the game are just some of the reasons I love this sport so much! As a player, I have always been blessed with a natural ability to see the field well and find my teammates with open passes, while playing with a high amount of confidence as to not worry about if I am the one preventing a goal or the one setting up the goals. I am not a rah rah guy that says a lot to my teammates but I do lead by example on the field and off of it.
One of the biggest concerns for me are my academics. I know that they are very important to me succeeding in life. My parents have always instilled in me the importance of my academics and I have to credit them for blessing me with the brains and for giving me the help I need. Currently, I have a 4.0 GPA and will continue to work hard to maintain this GPA throughout high school and college. I am going to be just as excited to be in a college classroom and campus as I will be on a college field playing.
Although I really enjoy playing soccer and everything that goes along with the sport, I do enjoy other things in life. My family and I have been going to the beach since I can remember and my love for the beach continues to this day. I enjoy surfing, swimming, and checking out the wildlife while relaxing in the warm sun. I am active in my local church, where we help the homeless, participate in festivals, and partake in the sacraments at mass. Yet, my favorite pastime other than soccer is traveling! I have to give a huge thank you to my parents for opening up my mind regarding the world. My mother is half Peruvian, we traveled back to her roots this past summer to visit family that I had never met before. It was Awesome! Prior to this past summer, in 2016, we also traveled to Europe as a family, where we even got to go to a European Championship game. I could not believe the fantastic atmosphere of the crowd inside and even outside the stadium! These trips made me realize that I would love to continue to travel throughout my life.
Currently, I am playing for City SC in Temecula, Ca. My coach there is Aaron Kiely. We will be finishing our season soon but high school season is just now beginning. My high school coach is Claudio Myftari, [email protected]
Thank you and I look forward to hearing and talking with you soon.
