My name is Jack Webber, I am a sophomore at D'evelyn Senior High School, the number one ranked academic school in the state of Colorado. I have been interested in soccer ever since I was a young child, growing up in a family revolving around the sport. However, the 2010 World Cup truly gave me an outlook on my life, and furthered my passion, that I am now sure I will have forever. By then, I knew I wanted to play at that stage in my future. I loved the playstyle of some of my favorites such as Cesc Fabregas, Diego Forlan, Kaka, Michael Essien, and Didier Drogba.
I have also always set very high expectations for myself, meaning it has always been a dream of mine to play at a division one school for soccer, and even further my game after that. Both in the classroom and on the soccer pitch, I surround myself with very high competition, for I have always had a very competitive demeanor, and I never back out of any challenge. Being with high competition, I have acknowledged the one thing I can always do is be the hardest worker wherever I go, in order to beat out the good and become the best at everything I do. After hours of working on my craft, I made and started varsity during my Freshman season. I was the youngest player on the team, playing with people much bigger, and way stronger. Yet, during this season, I learned many lessons, such as facing challenges that seemed like they could not be defeated, which I would carry with me everywhere, not only on the field. Something else I have always carried with me has been my sportsmanship and attitude towards results. Losing has never settled easily with me, after each loss, I would be upset, but by then the only thing was the future. Therefore, I always work harder than every other person to avoid another loss. On the contrary, winning is amazing but is never good enough to stop working towards being the best. In the past several years, I have seen a lot on the field, and have been through a lot of change, yet importantly adapting well to the change. This fall I am taking my next step with Real Colorado in the MLS Youth League, and ECNL.
